Regular Vacuuming
Dirt and grit wears
carpet like sandpaper. So thorough regular vacuuming will not only
remove dirt but also extend the life of your carpet.
Reducing dirt build-up
To reduce dirt, try
re-allocating your furniture regularly to allow for even
distribution of wear in heavy traffic areas. A good idea is to place
scraper mats at all doorway entrances to keep dirt outside.

Clean spills immediately
You’ve probably already discovered that almost anything will stain
or discolour your carpet if left unattended. In fact, there are no
carpets that are ‘stain proof’ or ‘bullet proof’. So all spills
should be cleaned up immediately.
Stain Treatments
Professional Cleaning If
all carpets can be stained, you might be wondering whether stain
treatments really work.
Stain treatments applied
to man made carpet fibres do work well as they help the carpet fibre
resist absorbing the spilt liquid for a longer time. This gives you
more time to clean up a spill or dirt before a stain is created.
On a treated carpet, a
liquid will pool on the surface and remain there for some minutes
which is very easy to mop up with a cotton cloth or an absorbent
paper towel. The liquid is so well absorbed by cleaning that, once
removed, the surface of the carpet where the spill was will be
almost perfectly dry.
If you have small
children or pets, carpets with stain treatments are highly
recommended.
Professional Cleaning
We would advise you get
professional cleaning for larger spills as it prevents stains from
drying into carpet fibre. We also suggest you advise professional
cleaners not to use water hotter than 55ºC. You’ll find some stains
may require additional professional cleaning to totally remove
discolouration. In fact, certain stains may require a dry powder or
liquid remover to complete a total lift-off of the stain. To find
